Dear colleagues!
We invite you to participate in the I International Archaeological Symposium, which will be held in Almaty in September 2024.
The aim of the Symposium is a dialogue and consolidation of the world scientific community to discuss ways to solve topical issues and fundamental problems of Eurasian archaeology.
The International Archaeological Symposium is planned to be held every two years. The topic of the scientific forum is not invariable and will be determined separately for each subsequent event.
The topic of the I International Archaeological Symposium "Horizons and paradigms of Eurasian archaeology in contemporary times". The event is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of an eminent scientist, archaeologist - Kemel Akishev.
K. Akishev is one of the founders of the academic archaeology of Kazakhstan, who made an outstanding contribution to the development of the national humanities. The range of scientific interests of Kimal Akishevich covers various aspects of the ancient and medieval history of Kazakhstan. The scientific activity of the scientist was focused not only on the study of certain applied aspects of archaeology of Kazakhstan, but also on solving theoretical problems related to the cultural, social and political genesis of ancient and medieval Eurasia. Archaeologist K. Akishev formulated a number of the most important scientific directions of a fundamental nature, and the creative legacy of the scientist today requires further development.
In the work of the I International Archaeological Symposium, it is planned to discuss topical problems of Eurasian archaeology of from the perspective of new discoveries, achievements and research methods.
Directions of the Symposium:
• The role of personality in archaeology (scientific schools and trends, concepts and views);
• Contribution of K. Akishev to the development of archaeology of Eurasia;
• Cultural and historical processes during the era of Paleometal on the territory of Eurasia: their reflection in archaeological sources;
• Asian Sakas and European Scythians: general and special matters;
• Methodology and methods of archaeology of early nomads: traditional directions and methodological innovations;
• Cultural transformations in Eurasia at the beginning of the 1st millennium AD (migration processes, their causes, significance and consequences);
• Steppe and centers of ancient civilizations: interaction and cross-cultural contacts in time and space.
Working languages of the Symposium: Kazakh, Russian, English.

Reports in co-authorship are submitted by one application and the data are reflected in it sequentially separated by semicolons; if the information is repeated (for example, country and/or city, place of work, postal address, etc.), then they do not need to be duplicated.
In the second information letter and on the website of the Margulan Institute of Archaeology, there is an active link for registration of materials for publication.
The collection of articles is planned to be published before the Symposium.
