Archaeozoological analysis

The systematization of animal bones is carried out according to their archaeological labeling and nomenclature. For the bones, the skeletal elements are identified, the preservation state of the osteological material is assessed, synostosis (the type of bone connection through bone tissue) is determined, the condition of the teeth (tooth system and replacement) is examined, the species composition of the bones is identified, and the season of livestock slaughter is established. During the analysis, the presence of gnaw marks by animals on the bones and signs of thermal treatment are also determined.
