Ermolayeva Antonina
In 1970, she graduated from the Historical Faculty of the Ust-Kamenogorsk Pedagogical Institute.
Since the 1970s, she took part in and supervised the work of detachments of East Kazakhstan, Central Kazakhstan, Shulba, Semipalatinsk, Semirechye, West Kazakhstan archaeological expeditions, first of the Department of Archaeology of the Institute of History, Archaeology and Ethnography named after Ch. Valikhanov, and then the Margulan Institute of Archaeology. In 1997-1998, as deputy head of the Kazakh part of the joint Kazakh-French archaeological expedition, she participated in the study of the mounds of early nomads at the Berel burial ground. In 2003, she worked as part of an international Kazakh-German expedition to survey copper and tin ore deposits and settlements of metallurgists in East Kazakhstan and Pavlodar region. In 2004-2006, as the head of the Taldysai detachment, she took part in joint research of the Kazakh-Italian archaeological expedition at the settlement of ancient metallurgists Taldysai in the Karaganda region. Subsequently, as the head of the applied archaeological research program "Taldysai Settlement", she headed the work of the Taldysai detachment in Ulytau. Currently, as the head and co-head of grant programs, she is engaged in archaeological research at the Bronze Age settlements of Taldysai Zhezkazgan-Ulytau and Myrzhik of the North-Betpakdala mining and metallurgical centers.
In 2018, she was awarded the badge of the Ministry of Education and Science "For Merits in the development of Science in the Republic of Kazakhstan".
A. Ermolaeva's research interests cover a wide chronological and territorial range – from the Bronze Age to the Turkic period, including monuments of early nomads on the territory of Central, Eastern, Western Kazakhstan and Semirechye. The main area of research at present is metallurgy and metal production of the late Bronze Age of Kazakhstan. She is an author and co-author of more than 90 publications on archaeology of Kazakhstan.
