Tatiana Teplovodskaya (14.06.1942 - 17.09.2022)

Tatiana Teplovodskaya was born on June 14, 1942 in the city of Alma-Ata. In 1965, she graduated from the Historical Faculty of the Kazakh State University. In 1965-1970, she worked as a teacher of history and social studies at the secondary school of the city of Zyryanovsk, East Kazakhstan region and secondary school No. 74 in the village Krasny Vostok of Alma-Ata region. In 1968-1970, she took part in the fieldwork of the CKCAE and GAE. Since April 1, 1971, she was employed at the Laboratory of Archaeological Technology of the Ch. Valikhanov Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR. T. Teplovodskaya for a number of years specialized in the technology of medieval ceramics. She successfully completed a one-year internship at the Laboratory of Natural Science Methods of the Institute of Archaeology of the USSR Academy of Sciences in Moscow (1973-1975), where she mastered the methodology of ceramics research by optical and technical methods. She took an active part in the work of the SKCAE and carried out research on the topic "Late Medieval ceramics of Otrar of the 16th-18th centuries".
T. Teplovodskaya took part in the I and II regional sessions of archaeologists of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan (1977, 1979), the All-Union Meeting "Problems of medieval archaeology of Kazakhstan and Central Asia", the conference "Application of natural methods and exact sciences in the study of the ancient history of Western Siberia", where she made presentations. She worked on her Candidate's thesis on the topic "Pottery production of Southern Kazakhstan in the 15th-18th centuries (based on the materials of Otrar)".
She died on September 17, 2022 in Almaty.
