Taisiya Senigova (22.07.1922 - 21.11.2020)

Taisiya Senigova was born on July 22, 1922 in Velikiye Luki. In 1946, she graduated from Moscow State University, and then she was sent to work at the IHAE of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR and enrolled as a Junior Researcher. In the future, her scientific 30-year career was associated only with the institute. She worked as a Junior Researcher at the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR from 01.12.1946, since 28.12.1960 she was approved as a Senior Researcher of the Department of Archaeology, and on 28.11.1977, she was dismissed from her post due to retirement.

In 1954, she defended her dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Historical Sciences on the topic "Ceramics of the settlement Altyn-Asar". She took part in the work of the Khorezm AEE, supervised the work of the West Kazakhstan Archaeological expedition in 1953 - 1954. In the 60s, she worked as part of the Semirechenskaya archaeological expedition, conducted excavations at the ancient settlement of Taraz. In 1954-1955, she taught the course "Fundamentals of Archaeology" at the Faculty of History of KazSU. T. Senigova took part in the creation of the consolidated work of Kazakh archaeologists "Archaeological map of Kazakhstan". She participated in the work of the SKCAE - in 1972-1975, she led the Turkestan detachment conducting research on the Turkestan settlement.

She passed away on November 21, 2020 in Moscow.
