Maryashev Alexey (4.12.1933 - 12.03.2018)

Alexey Maryashev was born on December 4, 1933 in Alma-Ata. In 1957, he graduated from the Faculty of History and Philology of KazPI named after Abay. After graduation, he worked as a teacher at the Kugaly secondary school in the village of Kugaly, Taldy-Kurgan region. Since 1958, he worked as a teacher in schools in Alma-Ata, in 1977 - in KazPI as a teacher. In 1977, he defended his Candidate's thesis. In 1980, he was enrolled in the staff of KazPI as a senior lecturer, and in 1985, he was transferred to the position of Associate Professor. Since 1992, he worked at the Margulan Institute of Archaeology in the position of Senior Researcher. In 1995, he defended his Doctoral dissertation at the Institute of Archaeology SB RAS in Novosibirsk. Since 1972, as part of the SKCAE, he participated in archaeological expeditions of the Karatau ridge. Maryashev was the author and co-author of more than 15 books on rock art and settlements of the Bronze Age.
Alexey Maryashev passed away on March 12, 2018.
