He graduated from the Historical Faculty of the Karaganda State Pedagogical Institute in 1971. He is a student of the archaeologist M. Klapchuk. After graduation, he returned to Tselinograd and in 1973, began working as a Researcher at the Tselinograd Regional Museum, organized the work of the Tselinograd archaeological expedition, which until 2000 conducted exploration and excavation of Stone Age monuments on the territory of Akmola, Karaganda and Pavlodar regions. He is a major specialist in the field of archaeology of the Ancient Stone Age. He conducted archaeological research on the following monuments: Neolithic sites Zhanbobek-4 in the Tengiz steppe (1977), Vishnevka-1 on the Ishim River (1981-1983); Paleolithic sites Batpak-7 in the Karaganda region (1985-1987), Angrensor-2 in the Pavlodar region (in different years); Bronze Age burial grounds of Balykhta, Zvenigorodka, Izhevsk (in different years); search and survey of Stone Age monuments in the Tengiz steppe (1974-1980), in the basins of the Selety and Olenty rivers and in other areas of the Left-Bank Irtysh region on the outskirts of Saryarka (in different years), in the Sarysu River basin (in different years).
Since 2000, he continued to work at the Presidential Center of Culture.
In 2001, he opened Altyn Orta LLP, whose expedition conducted the study of Stone Age monuments in Saryarka (excavations of the Paleolithic monument "Akzhar" on the Selety River in 2007-2009, the study of Paleolithic monuments Zhuantobe-1, Muzbel, Batpak 17-18, Mizar and other monuments).
Since 2019, he has been working as a Researcher at the Branch of the Margulan Institute of Archaeology in Astana.
He is an author and co-author of over 60 publications on the archaeology of the Stone and Bronze Age of Kazakhstan.
