"Margulan Readings – 2025" Press Release

From March 26 to 28, 2025, the international conference "Margulan Readings – 2025" will be held in Almaty.
Held since 1989, the "Margulan Readings" is one of the oldest scientific conferences in Kazakhstan and serves as a traditional platform for discussing current issues and prospects for the development of archaeological science. As a leading scientific event, the conference contributes to the integration of Kazakhstani archaeological research into the global scientific community in the field of studying, preserving, and popularizing ancient and medieval history.
As part of the conference, two round tables will be held, the topics of which are directly related to the instructions of the Head of State, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, announced at the sessions of the National Qurultai in the cities of Atyrau and Turkestan: "Discussion of the Concept for the Development of Archaeological Science in Kazakhstan" and "Kazakhstan’s Historical and Cultural Heritage in the Context of Contemporary Challenges".
The event is organized by the Margulan Institute of Archaeology of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, and the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
This year, the conference will be attended by 150 scholars from Kazakhstan, France, Germany, Korea, the USA, Turkey, Russia, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan.
