North-Kazakhstan Branch of the Margulan Institute of Archaeology

The North Kazakhstan Branch was established on April 22, 2021, by the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the decision of the General Director of the A.Kh. Margulan Institute of Archaeology.
The main goal of the Branch is to study the culture and historical processes of antiquity through conducting scientific research in the field of archaeology in North Kazakhstan.
In its activities, the Branch unites the scientific potential of archaeologists from the North Kazakhstan, Kostanay, and Pavlodar regions, elevating research in the region to a new level and coordinating the work of higher educational institutions, regional museums, and other scientific organizations involved in the study, preservation, and promotion of historical and cultural heritage. The main scientific directions of the Branch include the study of the patterns of historical development in the territory of Kazakhstan based on comprehensive research of archaeological cultures and monuments from the Paleolithic to the Middle Ages, as well as the accounting, preservation, and use of historical and cultural heritage monuments.
Branch employees participate in the implementation of scientific projects within the framework of the fundamental scientific research program of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, such as "Ancient and Medieval Kazakhstan: Systematization and Analysis of Archaeological Sources," "Northern Kazakhstan in the Context of Cultural and Historical Processes: From the Stone Age to Ethnographic Modernity," and other scientific projects.
